Our Programs
Sojournings Academy seeks to give our students an organic apprenticeship with Jesus through multidisciplinary, holistic, play-based, outdoor learning and prayer. Although a potentially newer concept for some of our students and families, knowing Jesus and who He says we are is central to all of our education. This happens very organically throughout the day as students explore topics of curiosity with wonder, joy and hope. We start the day with worship, inviting Jesus into our work and play, asking for the wisdom and creativity that comes from walking with Him. We invite you as parents to partner with us on this journey and welcome any questions you may have.
K-12 Forest School (SAFS)
Our K-12 program is operated as a mixed-age, outdoor private school, with access to a warm shelter and simple amenities. Our skill-based curriculum is built around strategic hands-on, play and project-based learning blocks that align with Colorado’s Academic Standards, also giving kids the freedom to explore and build upon their interests.
Learning outdoors helps students to become engaged, creative, critical thinkers and problem solvers who live with
confidence and empathy, having a strong sense of self, and an appreciation for beauty.
Preschool (SAPS)
Our preschool program is geared for students ages 3-5 and follows a uniquely designed curriculum that incorporates aspects of Montessori learning, in the fact that children are individual learners and can be responsible for their work and belongings. Like Waldorf, we will use predictable rhythms in class and emphasize creative learning, developing the child spiritually, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. We also seek to know each child individually and guide their interests (Reggio Emilia and Emergent Learning).
Siblings of Sojournings (SAPS)
We love families and believe parents should have the option of sending their children all to one school! We are therefore licensed as a large in-home daycare, providing services to younger siblings of students enrolled in either our Preschool or Forest School program. Our “Siblings of Sojournings” Program runs in tandem with our Preschool Program in a mixed-aged setting. Please note that attending children must be walking / eating independently, and may not exceed more than two kids under the age of 18 months at any given time.
Academic Portfolio
Everyday our students “Sojourn Around the World” as we embark on creative learning adventures that introduce us to the people and places of Asia, Africa, North & South America, Antarctica, Europe, & finally Australia. In addition, we will launch into outer space, and dive into the depths of the ocean. We celebrate God’s incredible design, and our place in it; as sons and daughters, kings and queens.
