Preschool

About the Program
Our preschool program is geared for students ages 3-5 and follows a uniquely designed curriculum that incorporates aspects of Montessori learning, in the fact that children are individual learners and can be responsible for their work and belongings. Like Waldorf, we will use predictable rhythms in class and emphasize creative learning, developing the child spiritually, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. We also seek to know each child individually and guide their interests (Reggio Emilia and Emergent Learning). We also believe that learning happens best in a natural environment, so learning outdoors is a priority and kids will spend at least 50% of their time outside year-round. We follow Colorado’s Early Learning and Development Guidelines (ELDG’s) and have received outstanding reviews from the coaches at Colorado Shines.
Open M-TH, 8-5, we offer enriching outdoor learning experiences and a play-based curriculum that is unique and sought after (we actually have families driving as far as Rollinsville, Nederland, Centennial and Gunbarrel), our parents have been highly satisfied with what we offer, plus our students have a lot of fun! Occasionally we will allow older preschoolers to join our Forest School program depending on their Kindergarten readiness. We hold a large in-home daycare license which allows an in-home capacity of 12 children to 2 teachers ratio.
Please note that immunizations are not required.

At Sojournings Academy, we desire to not only equip kids academically, but to also instill in them an awe of God. It is our hope to shine His light in all of our daily encounters, whether spoken or not, and to let each child and family know that God loves them, that they have a purpose beyond themselves, and that Jesus is inviting them to follow Him and to hear His voice, clearly and practically everyday.
